Polis serbu pejabat, rampas buku Zunar

Sekumpulan enam orang polis dari ibu pejabat kontinjen Kuala Lumpur menyerbu pejabat Zunar pagi dan merampas sejumlah 155 naskhah penerbitan yang diusahakan oleh kartunis popular itu.

"Serbuan di pejabat saya di bawah Seksyen 2 Akta Mesin Cetak dan Penerbitan, Seksyen (1)(c) Akta Hasutan dan Seksyen 500 Kanun Keseksaan," kata Zunar di Twitter.

Difahamkan, pasukan dari Ibu Pejabat Polis Kontinjen Kuala Lumpur itu tiba di bangunan pejabatnya di Pudu, Kuala Lumpur sejak jam 11 pagi.

Zunar berkata, ia terdiri daripada 66 buah buku berjudul 'Pirates of Carry BN' dan 86 buah buku edisi bahasa Inggeris 'Conspiracy to Imprison  Anwar' dan tiga buah buku dengan judul yang sama dalam edisi bahasa Melayu.

Zunar atau Zulkifli Anwar Ul-Haq kini berada di Cambridge, United Kingdom atas urusan kerja.

Mengulas tindakan itu, Zunar pihak terbabit sepatutnya mengemukakan saman ke atasnya sekiranya penerbitan berkenaan dianggap memfitnah mereka.

“Kalau kartun dianggap memfitnah, silakan orang yamg terasa itu kemuka saman sivil. Tiada masalah. Saya bantah guna undang-undang jenayah separti Akta Hasutan

Zunar berkata, beliau juga bimbang jika polis akan turut menyiasat pemilik premis yang menjadi disewa untuk pejabat tersebut.

“Ketika serbuan, polis asyik bertanya siapakah pemilik ruang pejabat yang saya sewa. Adakah mereka akan menyoal siasat pemilik pula?,” soalnya.

Terdahulu, seorang kakitangan Zunar ketika dihubungi mendakwa polis tidak mengemukakan waran untuk operasi tersebut.

Captured fugitives get 8 years jail, whipping for robbery, escaping police custody

Two men who escaped from police custody and were on the run for two years, were today sentenced to eight years jail each and whipping after they pleaded guilty to committing multiple offences, including gang robbery and fleeing from the cops.Hamzani Harun, 38, and Hissham Abdul Rahman, 40, pleaded guilty at the Butterworth Sessions Court to robbing Tann Suu Ee, 29, of 14 branded computers and RM1,000 cash on July 26, 2012 about 5.20am in Tasek Gelugor.They had committed the robbery while armed with machetes, an offence under Sections 395 and 397 of the Penal Code, with another person who is still at large.Sessions judge Meor Sulaiman Ahmad Tarmizi sentenced the duo to six years jail each and two strokes of the rotan.The duo, who were unrepresented, appealed to the court to let them serve their sentences concurrently, since they were facing multiple charges.But their request was denied after Deputy Public Prosecutor Fauziah Daud asked the court to order the duo to serve their sentences consecutively because they were not sorry for the crimes they committed.At a Butterworth Magistrate's Court later, Hamzani and Hissham were charged under Section 224 of the Penal Code for escaping police custody.They pleaded guilty to the offence, which was committed with five others on January 7, 2013 at about 9.45am at Butterworth Outer Ring Road interchange in Bagan Ajam while they were being transported from the Penang Prison to the court to be charged.Magistrate Muhammad Firdaus Abdul Wahab sentenced the men to 20 months jail each. They will serve the sentence after completing their six-year term for armed gang robbery.Hamzani and Hissham were then charged under Section 28 (i)(ii) of the Minor Offences Act, read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code, for possessing tools and weapons, such as nine pliers, six screwdrivers, a hammer, a saw and four machetes, that were used in their armed gang robbery in July 2012.They also pleaded guilty before Firdaus sentenced them to four months jail each.Hamzani and Hissham also pleaded guilty to injecting morphine into their own bodies on January 21 this year at about 6pm at the district narcotics office, an offence under Section (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act.The duo face a maximum two years jail or up to RM5,000 fine for the offence but Firdaus deferred the sentencing until March 26 pending the pathology reports.Hamzani and Hissham, however, claimed trial when charged with hurting civil servants, Mohd Nazzwuan Md Zain, Mohd Azizan Ahmad, Muhammad Sharifuddin Ali and T.Mahendren, who were escorting them from prison to the court in Butterworth on January 7 two years ago when they escaped.Firdaus set March 26 for trial. Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohd Khairul Fairuz Rahman prosecuted at the Magistrate's Court.Hamzani and Hissham’s two-year run ended last week when they were nabbed by the police in Jitra, Kedah.It was reported that curry or chilli powder was thrown at the policemen, who were then overpowered, in the police van during the escape. The seven fugitives then disappeared into an oil palm plantation in Tasek Gelugor and went their separate ways.The police launched an extensive manhunt around the mainland and in nearby Kedah. A few days after the escape, police shot dead two of them - Mohd Fairuz Adam, 31, and Mohd Noor Mustafa, 28 - who resisted arrest and fired at the cops in Kampung Padang Ibu in Penanti, Permatang Pauh.Mohamad Farid Akhtar, 24, and Mohd Shahrimi Mohd Noor, 28, later turned themselves in while Mohamad Khairulnizam Abdul Rani, 26, was nabbed at an Internet cafe in Bukit Mertajam.In March 2013, the trio were sentenced to two years jail each after they pleaded guilty at the Butterworth Magistrate's Court to four charges of injuring the four police escorts during their escape.They were also sentenced to another 18 months' jail each for escaping from police custody. "They're in plain view."He was already outraged by the way the guy threw the packages, that cracked the shell of his brand new ammo cleaning machine. But what happened next angered him even more."You're paying someone to take a package to go from point A to point B, so basically I paid someone to come to my house and pee on it," said Lucas.Ben says he called UPS repeatedly telling them what happened."I wasn't happy with that response, that's why I figured how to video edit," said Lucas.He made sure to post the video on the UPS Facebook page."They didn't want to see it, now I guess they're going to see it," said Lucas.A supervisor called and gave Lucas the apology he had been waiting for."She was apologetic and she wants to send me a 'we're sorry' gift," said Lucas.The driver was seasonal. ในการแข่งขันแต่ละครั้งจะมีผู้เข้าแข่งขัน 2 ทีม ทีมละ 3 คน ประกอบไปด้วยดารา-นักแสดง 2 คน และผู้แข่งขันจากทางบ้านอีก 1 คน ผู้เข้าแข่งขันทั้ง 2 ทีมจะต้องส่งตัวแทนทีมละ 1 คนออกมาแข่งตอบคำถามภายในเวลา 2 นาที ซึ่งคำถามที่ทั้ง 2 คนจะต้องตอบนั้นเป็นคำถามชุดเดียวกัน โดยคนที่ยังไม่ได้เล่นจะต้องไปเก็บตัวนอกห้องส่งเพื่อไม่ให้ได้ยินคำถาม-คำตอบในชุดนั้น ส่วนคนที่ตอบคำถามจะต้องขึ้นไปนั่งบนเก้าอี้ล่อฟ้า ซึ่งเก้าอี้จะเลื่อนขึ้นทุกครั้งที่ตอบถูก และตกลงมาที่จุดเริ่มต้นทุกครั้งที่ตอบผิด โดยจะยึดคำตอบแรกที่ผู้แข่งขันตอบออกมาเป็นหลัก คนที่ตอบคำถามได้ถูกต้องติดต่อกันมากกว่าจะเป็นฝ่ายชนะในรอบนั้น (ในกรณีที่คะแนนในรอบนั้นเสมอ จะไม่มีทีมไหนได้คะแนนในรอบนั้น) ทีมไหนชนะได้ 3 ครั้งก่อนจะกลายเป็นแชมป์ และมีสิทธิเข้ารอบ Jackpot ต่อไป

ทั้งนี้ หากผู้แข่งขันคนใดคนหนึ่งในทีมสามารถตอบคำถามได้ถูกต้องติดต่อกัน 10 ข้อ จะได้รับเงินรางวัล 100,000 บาทจาก AIS 3G 2100 ซึ่งเป็นผู้สนับสนุนหลัก และถึอว่าทีมนั้นเป็นแชมป์ทันทีเช่นกัน

 

รอบ Jackpot

ทุกครั้งที่ได้เป็นแชมป์ ทีมแชมป์จะได้สิทธิเล่นเกมในรอบ Jackpot 1 ครั้ง หากเล่นเกมชนะ 1 ครั้งจะได้รับสายฟ้าไปสะสม หากทีมแชมป์สามารถเก็บสะสมสายฟ้าได้ครบ 3 สายฟ้า จะได้รับรถยนต์ Toyota Corolla Altis Esport มูลค่า 899,000 บาททันที และทีมแชมป์สามารถเล่นเกมต่อเนื่อง หรือหยุดพักให้ทีมอื่นแข่งกันก่อน แล้วกลับมาแข่งต่อเมื่อพร้อมก็ได้

กติกาแบบแรก
พิธีกรจะถามคำถาม 1 ข้อ ผู้แข่งขันทั้ง 3 คนจะต้องตอบคำถามเรียงกันทีละคน คนละ 1 คำตอบภายในเวลา 5 วินาที โดยที่ผู้แข่งขันสามารถตอบคำถามได้เรื่อย ๆ จนกว่าจะได้คำตอบที่ถูกต้องและไม่ซ้ำกับที่เคยตอบไปแล้ว ถ้าหากหมดเวลาแล้ว ผู้แข่งขันยังตอบคำถามไม่ได้ เกมจะยุติลงทันที ทั้งนี้ ในทีมของผู้แข่งขันมีสิทธิข้ามได้ 1 ครั้ง ใครจะสามารถใช้สิทธิข้ามก็ได้ และสามารถใช้ได้แม้ไม่ใช่ในรอบการตอบของตัวเอง โดยเมื่อข้ามแล้ว รอบการตอบจะเป็นของผู้แข่งขันคนถัดไป หากสามารถทำได้ครบ 20 คำตอบจะได้รับ 1 สายฟ้า

กติกาแบบที่สอง
ตั้งแต่วันที่ 24 มิถุนายน 2557 มีการเปลี่ยนกติการอบ Jackpot คือ พิธีกรจะถามคำถาม 1 ข้อ ผู้แข่งขันทั้ง 3 คนจะต้องตอบคำถามให้ได้ 20 คำตอบ ภายในเวลา 1 นาที โดยผู้เล่นที่จะตอบคำถามจะต้องขึ้นมาบนเวที เอามือแตะเสาล่อฟ้าถึงจะมีสิทธิตอบ โดยสามารถตอบกี่คำตอบก็ได้ และสามารถแตะมือเปลี่ยนตัวเพื่อนร่วมทีมด้านล่างขึ้นมาตอบคำถามแทนได้เช่นกัน หากสามารถทำได้ครบ 20 คำตอบก่อนเวลาหมดจะได้รับ 1 สายฟ้า

มีข่าวเปิดเผยออกมาว่า ลูกแฝด 3 ของนักแสดงหนุ่ม ซงอิลกุก อย่าง แทฮัน มินกุก มานเซ ที่กำลังได้รับความนิยมเป็นอย่างมากไปทั่วทั้งเกาหลีจากรายการ Superman Returns ทาง KBS ได้ทำยอดขายปฏิทินของตัวเองสำหรับปี 2015 ไปอย่างมหาศาลกันเลยทีเดียว

โดยตามข้อมูลจากทาง KBS ที่เปิดเผยออกมาเมื่อวันที่ 27 มกราคม ปฏิทินของ แทฮัน มินกุก มานเซ นั้นมียอดขายมากกว่า 3 แสนชุดได้ “ถึงแม้ว่ายอดที่แน่นอนจะยังไม่ได้มีการนับทั้งหมด แต่ก็สามารถขายไปได้แล้วมากกว่า 3 แสนชุด ซึ่งจะไม่มีการจัดทำปฏิทินออกมาเสริมมากขึ้นอีกแล้ว"

จริงๆแล้ว แต่เดิมนั้นปฏิทินดังกล่าวมีจุดประสงค์ในการจัดทำขึ้นเพื่อเป็นการแบ่งปันให้กับคนในครอบครัว หรือเพื่อนสนิทของซงอิลกุกเอง แต่เนื่องจากว่าได้รับความสนใจเป็นอย่างมาก จึงได้มีการจัดทำออกมาจัดจำหน่ายในที่สุด แต่อย่างไรก็ตามรายได้ที่ได้จากการวางขายนั้นก็จะถูกนำไปช่วยเหลือในการทำสิ่งดีๆต่อไป

Is Putrajaya still bound by RM165 million NS job to Umno man’s firm, PKR asks

PKR Youth Wing strategy director Akmal Nasir seeks answers about the company that provides bus services to NS participants, with a contract worth RM165 million. – The Malaysian Insider pic, January 26, 2015.PKR has asked whether the recently announced suspension of the National Service would affect a RM165 million transport contract given to a company linked to an Umno leader.Its youth wing strategy director, Akmal Nasir said Gunung Capital Berhad was awarded the contract through its subsidiary GPB Corporation Sdn Bhd last December."I revealed last week that there was RM212 million in difference as the savings announced by the prime minister with the deferral of NS for 2015 was RM400 million, when the actual cost of the programme as announced in the 2015 Budget was RM612 million," he said in a statement today."Does this mean that the government stands to lose RM212 million because it still has to pay contractor companies like Gunung Capital which has been awarded the RM165 million contract although NS for 2015 has been suspended?"He also asked if this was the reason Putrajaya refused to abolish the NS programme altogether as suggested by many parties including education lobbyists."Is the government's refusal to abolish NS because certain companies linked to Umno leaders were promised contracts worth millions for the long term or contracts that are more than a year?"Akmal said the contract given to Gunung Capital includes 416 buses for 82 NS camps for a period of three years beginning December 26, 2014 to December 25, 2017, but noted that it was not clear how the contract was awarded and if the value was on par with the service provided."This brings up a lot of questions, because information provided shows that Gunung Capital is led by an Umno leader – Datuk Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal – as the executive chairman and chief executive officer of the company."He is also the Bukit Gantang Umno division chief, who is active in Perak," he added.Last week, Akmal urged Putrajaya to abolish the NS altogether instead of suspending it only for this year, as the RM400 million annual fee could be spent elsewhere.He said Putrajaya had spent RM5,283 on each of the 832,712 trainees undergoing the programme since February 16, 2004.“The RM400 million amounts to around one-fourth or one-fifth of the annual National Higher Education Fund (PTPTN) loan. It could provide RM15,000 study loans to 25,000 university students each year," he said.Akmal said today the suspension of NS training was a good way to reduce government expenditure, but added that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak ought to explain why it could save 65% of the estimated expenses of the programme."Does this mean the government will pay companies like Gunung Capital RM165 million although no bus service will be provided for 2015? And what has happened to the RM212 remainder of the estimated expenses?" he asked. – January 26, 2015.

Putrajaya considers ISA provisions in new anti-terror law

The Internal Security Act was abolised after years of campaign by rights activists, but Putrajaya now says some of its provisions may be incorporated into a new law to fight terrorism. – The Malaysian Insider file pic, January 26, 2015.Four years after repealing the Internal Security Act (ISA), Putrajaya said it is considering may incorporate some of the provisions in the draconian law into a new act in the wake of threats of terrorism such as that posed by the Islamic state of Syria and Iraq (Isis).Deputy Home Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar told The Malaysian Insider that the new anti-terrorism bill, to be tabled at the next Parliament session in March, was necessary to curb terrorist activities in the country.“The government has promised that the ISA will not be restored, but perhaps after it is vetted, (the new law) will have provisions similar to the ISA," he said.Wan Junaidi said the new law would be divided into different sections, which would include punishment and preventive measures.“We want this new law, because with this new act we can divide it into different areas. There will be an area on punishment, one on prevention, one on rehabilitation, and much more."He said the recent terrorist attacks in Paris served as a lesson for Malaysia and a reminder to the government of the need to be careful in anticipating such violence.“We cannot wait for someone to bomb a building before we arrest him. No one in Malaysia wants that to happen.“Do you want what happened in Paris to occur here? Sometimes, we go on and on about democracy, but we have never asked ourselves how much of a democracy we want."

Polis sebar video Zamani Slam dikenal pasti

Polis Selangor telah mengenalpasti anggota polis yang terlibat dan bertanggungjawab merakam dan menyebarkan video pendek penyanyi Zamani yang ditahan polis baru-baru ini.

Dalam kenyataannya Ketua Polis Selangor Datuk Abdul Samah Mat berkata pihaknya sedang meneruskan siasatan untuk mengenal pasti pegawai dan anggota polis lain turut terlibat.

Siasatan dijalankan bawah Seksyen 233 Akta Komunikasi dan Multimedia 1998, tambahnya.

"...pihak polis memandang serius terhadap perbuatan tersebut," tegas Abdul Samah.

"Siasatan akan dilengkapkan secepat mungkin dan akan dikemukakan kepada timbalan pendakwa raya untuk tindakan selanjutnya," katanya lagi.

Ketua Polis Negara Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar hari ini berkata siasatan akan dijalankan terhadap pihak yang menyebar video pendek itu.

Video pendek sepanjang kira-kira satu setengah minit itu menunjukkan bekas penyanyi kumpulan Slam itu duduk atas rantai dengan tangan bergari dan menyanyikan lagu pop mengenai masalah putus cinta.

Mengulas lanjut, Abdul Samah berkata pihaknya mengadakan siasatan dalaman dari segi salah laku dan pematuhan Prosedur Operasi Piawai (SOP) oleh Jabatan Integriti dan Pematuhan Standard (JIPS).

"Polis Selangor memberi jaminan bahawa siasatan yang telus akan dijalankan tanpa melindungi sesiapa, telah pun dilaksanakan dan tindakan dalaman mengikut peraturan tatatertib akan dikenakan terhadap anggota-anggota polis yang terlibat," katanya.

mStar Online hari ini melaporkan, pengurus Zamani akan mengambil tindakan ke atas pihak yang bertanggungjawab menyebabkan rakaman tersebut tersebar.

Johan Aziz berkata rakaman yang dimuatkan di YouTube itu mengaibkan Zamani.

Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said academics could serve as sources of reference for the government. – The Malaysian Insider file pic, January 23, 2015.Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today invited academics honoured as distinguished professors to contribute ideas relevant to their expertise to the government.Muhyiddin, who is also the education minister, said these professors could attend government meetings relevant to their fields and serve as sources of reference."This will be a form of government recognition to academicians," he said at an event to honour photonics professor Dr Harith Ahmad of Universiti Malaya as a distinguished professor.Harith is the fourth academic to have been honoured as a distinguished professor.In 2010, three academics were thus honoured: Tan Sri Prof Dr Muhammad Kamal Hassan of the International Islamic University (Islamic Studies), Datuk Prof Dr Looi Lai Meng of Universiti Malaya (Pathology) and Datuk Prof Dr Shamsul Amri Baharudin of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (Social Science).Muhyiddin said the honouring of academics as distinguished professors was recognised as their elevation to a strategic arena in the formulation of policies that had an impact on society at the national and international level.He said distinguished professors could use the research grant of RM300,000 awarded to them to draw up a succession plan to polish young talents with

Cukai jualan minyak pada pengilang diperkenal?

Harga barang kekal walaupun harga minyak turun terjadi kerana peniaga dan pengilang tidak mendapat manfaat daripada harga rendah komoditi itu, dakwa PKR.

Malah, berbeza dengan trend global, pihak itu didakwa membayar lebih mahal daripada harga pasaran dan harga yang dinikmati pengguna biasa.


Naib Presiden PKR Rafizi Ramli mendakwa kerajaan mengenakan cukai jualan untuk pembelian petrol dan diesel kepada pihak industri dan komersial berkuat kuasa 1 Januari lalu.

Cukai itu, menurutnya, dikenakan ke atas harga runcit yang dibayar orang ramai iaitu RM1.91 untuk seliter petrol RON95 dan RM1.93 bagi diesel.

Walaupun diberikan diskaun, kata Rafizi, pengguna komersial kini sebenarnya membayar harga RM2.269 seliter bagi RON95 dan RM2.236 seliter bagi diesel.

Rafizi mendakwa perkara itu dinyatakan dalam Pekeliling Perbendaharaan bernombor rujukan SR(8.09)102/21-1Vol.58(38) yang dibocorkan padanya.

“Rakyat harus sedar bahawa salah satu sebab harga barang tidak turun secepat harga minyak adalah kerana pengilang dan industri tidak menikmati kejatuhan harga minyak akibat cukai jualan yang diperkenalkan Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak ini,” katanya.

Alihkan kemarahan

Menurut Rafizi, pengilang dan pengusaha komersil tidak dibenarkan membeli daripada stesen minyak sebaliknya secara terus dan pukal daripada syarikat minyak.


Sementara itu, Rafizi (kiri) juga menolak kempen di laman sosial yang menggambarkan harga barang kekal mahal kerana “peniaga-peniaga Cina” enggan menurunkannya.

“Pentadbiran Najib mengambil tindakan tidak bertanggungjawab mengenakan cukai senyap-senyap kepada industri untuk menambah pendapatan dengan harapan rakyat mengalihkan kemarahan kepada industri dan peniaga, bukannya kerajaan.

“Sedangkan kerajaan mengutip ratusan juta cukai dari rakyat dan peniaga setiap bulan sejak kejatuhan harga minyak berlaku,” kata Rafizi yang juga anggota parlimen Pandan.
